Briefly... Sensormatic took the concept of eliminating separate pins for item attachment, primarily targeting apparel.

Inside lies a mechanical pin-locking assembly on the needle side and a metallic anchor-block on the side drawn by a high-power magnetic detacher. You really need a high-power detacher for this one.

The pin is retracted by the magnet, shifting the locking end, and the needle is spring-ejected, releasing the merchandise.

What can we do: simply shift this pin physically. Fortunately for us, right where it’s easiest to catch and slide, the manufacturer provided a convenient indentation so you can't miss.
Just pierce the plastic (as it's thinnest at this exact spot ;) with something thin, rigid, and sharp (an awl or a thin flathead screwdriver) and perform a small leverage movement to shift the internal pin. Merchandise released.
